The Research Triangle Park is internationally recognized as a center of innovation, and is one of the oldest and largest science parks in North America. Duke University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and NC State University are all within 20 minutes of RTP, with each having active research and development programs developing new technologies for licensing and commercialization opportunities. IBM, Glaxo Smith Kline, Cisco and other large corporations, have expansive offices in the Triangle area further contributing to the region’s concentration on scientific discovery and technology development. Of the companies located in RTP, 52% employ less then 10 people, many of which are involved in the research, development and commercialization of innovative technologies.Our membership is a consortium of individual accredited angel investors that are passionate about entrepreneurship and have a sincere desire in helping the entrepreneurs in our area in whom we individually invest.
